Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

XBOne... fixed.To everyone who says picking on Microsoft for their consumer unfriendly bullshit was "being unnecessarily mean," take a look at this. Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

I felt that I needed to explain why in my last two devations I gave my characters such awkward and weird names....

Blame my mother. Its all her fault.

I was still in the proccess of thinking up the children in one of my many ongoing Final Fantasy VII stories. None of the boy names seemed to fit the character. *Note- I was originally planning on one kid. So Cheri wasn't even a thought then.* I kept bugging my mom about what seemed like a good boy name for him and eventually....I bugged her past no return. I sat on carpeted floors rolling around in a blanket, nagging my mother as she watched American Idol *funny, its the other way in my house. I don't particularly like AI, but my mom loves it* and it finally became too much.

Rutabega. She snapped at me. Not snapped, but finally said exasperated beyond no return. I was tired. It was a funny name. It clicked. Rudy. Rutabega. And so Rudy was born.

Cheri. *facepalm* Now I'll admit that's my fault. Again I'd like to mention that I hadn't completely had all the names ready, just Rudy. That's it. Sooo, I figured. Hey! Why not name the family after food. *Since I love food so much.* I looked up food names. Anise is actually a spice. Go figure. So I found that. Then Cheri gave me trouble. It was VERY hard for her...then I saw it. Cherimoya. I loved the name. Seen the fruit. *never ate it* But I liked it. Liked the first part and so Cheri was created.

Yeah...the weirdest names for characters ever. But they are also one of my favorites. I'm so going to have fun explaining their names in the storyline...

Hey, as long as there is some method to your madness then that is all that matters. Who cares if the other people in the world don't get it. As long as you do then that is what matters the most. At least this way you lessen the chance that someone is going to copy their names. Thanks for sharing the details.
